Default Emergency Communications Demonstration June 23-24 - Laguna Beach, CA

Laguna Beach's amateur radio operators (Hams) will set-up and

operate several solar powered radio stations for 24 hours from

11 AM Saturday 23, June until 11 AM Sunday, June 24. The

stations, operating under Laguna's own call sign, "N6L" will be

located on the fire road between Moulton Meadows and

    Top-of-the-World. (Thomas: Page 951, B4)

The event is Field Day, the largest on-the-air event in the world.

Except the during World War II, Field Day has been regularly held

since 1933. It is sponsored by the American Radio Relay League.

This is Laguna Beach's 14th year of participation and your

neighborhood Hams welcome you to experience hands-on,

on-the-air emergency communications techniques with equipment

provided by Laguna's Emergency Communications Team.

Please note: There will be ham's operating from field day sites all over the US... Check out http://www.arrl.org/field-day-locator to find a site near you. Stop by and say hello, look around and get on the air. Even if you dont have a license you can get on the air.
