when you're a tripod maker... how much innovation can you really produce? It's not rocket science and I see 3 main points they need to focus on.
material
robustness
precision
everything else is marketing.
those gitzo are very nice stuff though and sure look very nice![]()
would be fun to have one especially if you like tripods I could see thatI like the finish color !
my main work head is a acratech ultimateI originally had it cause being from the islands I liked the fact it was easy to clean out if it got mucked up
and light but holds well
legs are bogen ? cheap but solid enough and working again in the conditions they tend to rust out even when taken care of
plates I love RRS and swear by L plates !!!!
if I was buying a new tripod and head to day I would be looking at the RRS options as they seem to be well thought out etc..
Ywen agree how much innovation not much![]()
I think the only time in tripods I went WOW thats cool is when the benbo first came out I remember I was in HS and thought WOW how cool is that
went down played with them and my only issue was when they first came out they were a bit tricky to work withso I never got one but have not seen anything other than lighter and stiffer better clamps and such
