On The Road/Trail Snacks?

I try not to snack while driving- only if I feel like I need a sugar boost. Otherwise, its just plain ol leaded coffee- or unleaded to mix it up and not over caffinate.

Yogurt covered blue berries
Trail mix (I just like the salt)
pringles (again, I like the salt)
Beef jerky (see the pattern?)

For whatever reason, snacking just leads me to over eat, because I still want the "meal" later.

Homemade Rice Krispy treats (the store bought ones are nasty); I have a horrible addiction to them & the rest of the family is lucky if they get a bite!

For a long road trip all I have in the truck is water and bite size carrots.
Carrots are a great road snack. Just enough fructose to keep you awake, takes some honest-to-goodness chewing which is good for overall digestion, high water content, high in fiber, no fat at all.

And the intense chewing increases blood flow the your head helping to keep you alert......

Of course during and after the trip I do have nice orange poop!

Cherries when in season, I get the gout. Homemade jerky, salmon is my favourite but it sure stinks up the jeep. Celery, carrots and hummus.
