    Default Mike Basich's Snowmobile rig

Stumbled on to this article and rig and thought there might be some interest/inspiration here. I don't have any more info than I link to below but if you find some updates please post.

"The finished product is a completely redesigned Dodge truck with an insulated, carpeted, rear sleeping area complete with lighting. On the roof is the snowmobile ramp with a hydraulic backend that lifts up for more room in the sleeping quarters. The front seats spin around so you can sit comfortably facing the rear of the vehicle. It’s not just for winter, either. In the summer, you can take the canvas off to enjoy the cool summer breeze."

That is neat. I keep picturing a similar flexible expo layout with an Avalanche.

I wonder how much flex there is between cab and bed on the Dodge and if he fully welded the cab and bed together. Would be nice to see more detail of the actual construction, how he keeps it watertight, the rear lift mechanism, etc.

That is one inspired build! clap.gif

I loved that his cut and paste visualization was by scissors, sellotape and pens, true to the original methodology.

The economies of the build belie the engineered outcome, it's just so well executed to fulfill it's intended role, brilliant! happy0034.gif

I met Mike numerous times years back when his sister dated my room-mate. He is very smart and practical, as well as being one of the nicest all around humans I've come accross. The linked articles show some insight into a very cool lifestyle.
