Default Emergency Tool for the VG150 Transfer Case

    Jeremy as promised.....

G-wagenaccessories likes to introduce an emergency shift tool for the VG150 transfer case in the W463 G-wagen.

If you ever encounter a faulty ECU or a dead electrical transfer case shift motor, which might you leave stuck in Neutral (TC) far away from the next dealership,

here is the "Emergency TC Shift Tool".

If you are "stuck" in Neutral, between the High and Low range of the transfer case, your truck will not go forward or able to back up with its engine power.

This might take a flat bed tow truck to get you out of this misery.

To use this new emergency shift tool, remove the electrical TC shift motor, and insert the shift tool instead.

Use a wrench and turn it clockwise to shift the TC into its low gear or counterclockwise into the high gear.

Reinstall the shift motor again to seal off the TC and maybe leave the electrical connection unplugged.......

Get back into you truck and leave the scene of this incident

This Shift VG150 Shift Tool will be available from http://www.g-wagenaccessories.com/

Great stuff Karl. Do you provide how-to instructions (video to watch before we get stuck) on how to pull the TC shift motor?
How often has this issue occurred on people?
A vehicle’s worth is not what you put into it, but what it put into you.

    Well Jeremy,

if you buy the NAV upgrade, you can play the video in the G-500 and tell your girlfriend how to use that emergency tool while she lays under truck to get the transfer case out of neutral

I do not know how often this issue (not the girlfriend) has come up, but the purchase of this emergency tool might be a good thing compared to a tow truck bill, retrieving some stuck truck out of - let say Death Valley or so.

The video should be also an introduction into " how to pick and choose your hand tool set for the Overlander" plus a trailer from "Zack, the Overland Gourmet" (quick made snacks for an emergency stop).

LOL touche. I was thinking about inserting some smart ***** comment here, but I don't have anything worthwhile at this time.
