I had Toyo AT's on my Dakota and my Jeep XJ, great tires but wore quickly in my experience. I am not sure if the AT and the MT share the same rubber compound or not?

I now run the Hankook MT and they are the best tires I have owned. About 25,000 km on them and they are wearing very well. Balanced easily and have stayed balanced to date.

No issues towing with them either. They are not E load rated heavy truck tires, C rated IIRC? Not sure if there is much of a difference?

Can't go wrong with the Toyo I am sure.

Just made a tire decision myself. Went with the toyos 255/85/16. Wont be here till monday hope there good. Did alot of reading and one of the only complaints was price. They supposedly last. Read many reviews where folks are getting lets just say well past 40k miles. Time will tell. Oh and the reviews for the hankooks were not very favorable. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Very heavy rig.
It's funny you mentioned the smell. I put a set of Toyo's on my 5500 Dodge and didn't know what that smell was, almost like a sewer, hope it goes away soon.

I didn't notice a smell, but they sure do ride nice! It's like a whole new truck...

My Hankook Dynapros are probably the best I've had for off-road use and after two years, I'll be getting another set for my 17" rims-

Toyo's for sure , I just put a new set on my 3500 Megacab and boy do they stink !! (Stink as in smells bad) you can stand 10 or feet away and smell them but I love them , they seem to be the only tire to hold the weight of my truck , other tires the sidewalls break down. My last set I got about 55k by doing regular rotations and checking the air once a wk. I guess time will tell with the Hankook's what is the longest someone has has a set on there vehicle ?

I will probably buy a set of 255 MT's in a month or so when I head out fishing the West. The truck always has dead mice in it, so I won't notice the tire's stink so bad...

I just put the toyos on my truck last thursday and I don't notice the stink you guys talk about. Heck they were in my living room for several days. Do they have a slight odor of rubber sure but not anymore so than any other tire.

Toyos are where it's at... I had the ATs before and got 60k miles with no flats, no issues. I have 35" MT's right now. I don't have a mileage report on them yet but they seem tough as nails!
