Cargo van to passenger van conversion?

So, hunting for a diesel passenger van came up with slim results. It was either a gas passenger van or a diesel cargo van. A quick search pulled up no results.

My question is, does anyone have any experience with converting a cargo van to a passenger set up. IE: seats, belts and windows?

Well, they should probably all have the mounting holes for seat bracketry which you can then purchase at www.discountvantruck.com. Mine only has one passenger row behind the driver seat, but I'll be adding a third row of seats soon. The seatbelts (at least on my 1990) are attached to the seat itself. The windows can be cut into the van body by removing the interior panel, cutting the hole in the factory spot, etc.

I already picked up the van. Got a 97 power stroke econoline for 3900.

Some cargo vans have all the reinforcing plates-just bolt everything in. Some don't.

Since you are starting with nothing, see if you can find 08+ seats and belts to get middle shoulder belts for the kids. The holes are the same

My 97 is low miles but from MO and rusted to dust, so I'm searching for a nice TX (minor) conversion van with a high(ish) top that has a blown up drivetrain.

Then I'm just gonna swap the bodies with the other van. That way I'll have a UJOR 4*4 7.3 DIESEL E-150 conversion van with a 1-ton frame.

or so is the plan. Funny thing is, I think there is one less than a mile from my new shop. It hasn't moved in a month since I've been going there.

Not to take ANYTHING away from this awesome van, but I am pretty sure the picture is reversed and that is really the passenger side- look at the writing on the badges. Plus there are other pics of it on the Boulder website without doors on the driver's side.

Too bad- that would be an incredible combo....
