How do you use Spot Tracker and Google earth/ maps without flags, just lines?

I can't seem to find the correct terms to search, assuming it exists. I hate how the flags look, and see people posting their trips with a purple line. I assume there must be a way to do it, why would everyone use purple if it wasnt automated? If I export my kml file and import it to google earthmaps I get flags, but I want the purple lines, how are you guys doing it? Am I just confused about what I think I saw? Thanks
