    Default Center console vents

Looks like the previous owner used one of those vent holders on the center console vents for holding the cell phone and busted both sides. Anyone know where I can find a replacement? Also, passenger window goes down but needs help going up. Can hear the motor turning but the window does not move. Would this be a fixable or replace type repair?

    Thanks

Are you asking about a Montero, if so what year.

You can fill in you signature with your truck information. It would be helpful to the readers to whom you are asking for information.

Sorry, thought had included the info in my sig. It is a 96 Montero SR. As for silicone the window moves pretty easy with very little effort. Still think it needs the silicone?

Well, it's either you try and lube it so it can move freely in both directions or you replace the window motor... Unless it was previously removed, I doubt it would be out of alignment since it does go down easily...

Well it looks like both driver and passenger front windows need work. So be taking a trip to the local salvage yard. No garage and its monsoon season. Guess I'll pull parts first. Got caught in a nasty downpour while trying to pull the drivers side window up we had it sideways in the channel.

I know our local salvage guys don't have any Montaro's but hoping other vehicles/years parts will cross match. Can anyone tell me what matches up to the 96 Montero SR?

We hit an 8 miles section of snot on our back road shortcut. Tail end was all over the place. My wife was driving. Last 2 miles we popped it in the 4x4. Had a great time!

    Thanks

Only the Montero will fit. Check car-part.com for availability from most parts yards around the US.

Another update: Driver's side is " fixed " Nothing wrong with the regulator or motor. The plastic clips that hold to the bottom of the window glass were busted off allowing the window to slip all the way down and out of the channel. Handful of nylon zip ties fixed it right up. Works like a champ. Tomorrow I'll attack the passenger side. Expect to find the same problem, hopefully. I don't suspect those clips are an Autozone purchase.

Check your ASA program for the part number of the broken part. Then do a search on Google or whatever, to purchase them.

Don't have the ASA program? Get it here http://www.mitsubishilinks.com/ along with the service manual.

Thanks, had the Service Manual but not the ASA program. Very handy. Looks like the left front window regulators out. I've located a replacement but how do you get it out of the door? Manual's a bit sketchy on that.
