    Default Disco I key codes?

Anyone know where I can get a key code for a 1995 DI? Local dealership/shops/locksmiths aren't able to help as their databases don't "go back that far."

There's a company out of the UK that claims to have codes, but I have know idea if they're legit or not...

I don't need the security/transponder code, but the actual code for cutting the key blank itself to fit my locks. This is normally obtained via the VIN, but I'm not having luck finding a place that has a code for my year's VIN#.

Bumping... kind of at a loss here, fellas. I've called half a dozen dealerships around the country and twice as many locksmiths. Apparently VIN-based keycodes for '95s are no longer available. (?!)

I really hope that isn't the case... ripping door cards and an ignition barrel to replace a stupid key seems like a lot of work for something so silly.

    No ideas, anyone?

Is the key lost or broken? A locksmith can cut a key from two broken pieces. If it's lost, pulling the ignition barrel may be your only option. It really isn't that difficult. I recently had to remove my ignition and disassemble it to remove a broken key.

This is for a D2, but should be very similar operation on a D1.

Call Rovers North. Since they are licensed to carry all of the LR "classic" parts, they may have the information or know who would have it. Frankly, I am surprised the dealers don't have it. It isnt like the D1s and RR Classics have completely gone a way. Also, maybe try some other dealers like Las Vegas or out in LA, that are bound to keep seeing D1s in their service departments. Maybe they still have the information.

Call me at 801-298-5300 ask for Sean in service.

I just checked with an old VIN to one of my old 95 discovery's and it shows a key code in LR's database still..
