It's a remanufactured rover engine with top hat liners that Atlantic British is reselling.
It looks like this:

looks very nice , hows it coming along? so with this new style motor the problem is gone? if so hows that stupid land rover engineers didn't do the same by sending land rover reputation down the drain
i think in between all after 1999 rover motors the best is the ford engine on the latest land rovers. em i right? its a basically modified f150 motor. em i right? correct me plz if not

after 2005 or 2006 they all have ford motor and trans, that's what ppl say and jaguars later years when they became actually much less junk is due to practical ford parts including motor and transmission . stay away from European engineering if u want to have a reliable car lol its a fact

Actually, the later Land Rovers and Jaguars use British/German designed engines based on the AJ-V8, which was designed in house at Aston Martin/Jaguar before Ford took over in 1998. Ford then used this design for the 4.0 V8 in the Lincoln series. Aston Martin also uses a much tweaked version of this motor. My own Jaguar XJ8 has this engine coupled to a ZF 5HP24. This car now has 163K on it and has been very reliable. The transmissions used in Rovers and Jags from the 1990's to now are German ZF models, except for the supercharged versions, which is a Mercedes unit, I believe. What Ford brought to the table was greater quality control expertise and of course development money.
