    Default My beach fishing trailer

Just thought I'd show some pics of a fishing trailer I use to tow the 60 miles of beach to get to the Mansfield Channel. That's my 14yo learning to drive a clutch in one of the pics.

I know that view. I really do miss it there. Best part was living in Bluff, right on the Lagoon...

    Enjoy the fishing...

More pics. Gonna build a kayak rack for it next, that will hold up the center of the grey tarp.

I used to do that!! We'd put up 300-400lbs of smoked salmon every year. I really miss those days; you brought back some fond memories!!

Nice! I am tinkering with the idea of something similar. We often go out for a day or two with 4 people and the gear/food adds up quickly.

What did you start off with a base? Any special rust prevention steps (my other big concern)?

    thanks

    My rust prevention steps?

I bought cheap. I pieced together the whole truck/trailer rig off craigslist for about $2500, plus some elbow grease. That way, when it rusts out, it won't bother me!

I'm going to try my best not to let the shark fishing bug me because i think its a cool rig. RInse it off well after your weekend and your rust problem should be no worse than any other trailer out there.
