Default Yes, its hot outside but I have no heat

    Although,
its pretty hot outside Im still concerned about my heater.

Went to the mountains couple weeks ago and it was pretty dang cold up top, turned on my heater but no heat!

Checked the fuses, all are fine.
    AC blows ice cold.
When going from cold to hot, I feel the air being redirected which what it should do.
Had my coolant flushed about a month ago, so no probs there.

it seems like everything is working except that there is no heat going through the vents.

Anyone experienced this? What can be the problem?

    thanks

It could possibly be a clogged heater core, go and have it back flushed. Check the hoses coming out of and going into the heater core. If one is super hot and the other not, then you have a clog. You are sure that the blend door is operating properly?

check the water valve. it is what allows coolant to run/not run through the heater core. it could be stuck shut, not allowing the flow. also, the heater core can be gummed up with debris, not allowing air flow. this can be leaves and stuff. also, it can be a mouse or other rodent den.

    good luck

Ill check the hoses, see if it is clogged. The blend door seems to be working ok, i could feel the air flow change when going from hot to cold.
    Back flushed??

Leaves and stuff? How can that stuff possibly get into the cooling system?

Yeah, flushing the system the opposite of normal coolant flow.

** I think he means debris may have fallen ON the heater core.

Yeah, I'd like to get this sorted out soon for mine. Funny part is that it'll work sometimes and sweat you out of the truck...? Didn't think to back flush the system when the motor was out and hoses were just dangling there...

How do you guys back flush the system?

I was thinking of just connecting a water hose to the coolant exit side and blowing water thought it.

I've tried pressurized water flowing both ways several times and mine still has an issue spitting out heat. I've added an electrical 12v auxiliary heater. Installed it in the middle floorboard area of the passenger side because it tends to be much colder on that side. Helps a little.

Do yall get heat at all? If I recall correctly (we've had many sleepless nights lately with our new baby), I get decent heat on the drivers side, but there must be something wrong with the mixing flaps not allowing heat to go to the passenger side? Plus The air that does blow in is ice cold and even with the system off, it sends a cold draft to the passenger side. We wont be doing any winter exploring if I can't get this issue resolved, too.
