    Default California Big Sur

    Hello,

I have never been to Big Sur and I would like to plan a trip this summer.
I will be bringing my Family (GF and kid) and the Missus request that there must be Toilet and Shower.
Does Anyone know of a good place to Camp in Big Sur that has those amenities?
Again sorry to sound such a Noob but I have never been there.
Just trying to get some feedback from people that have Camped there.

    Thanks in Advance!

It's been quite a while since I've been down that way camping, but I enjoyed Limekiln State Park and Pfeiffer Big Sur for campgrounds with facilities. If you don't mind roughing it a little more (no showers if I remember right), I highly recommend Kirk Creek in Los Padres National Forest, assuming you can get a spot. If you shoot for there, allow time for a plan B. There are other campgrounds public and private, but these are the ones I've had direct experience with.

    Thank you for your response!
I just got back from a 4 day at Folsom Lake.
I will be planning my Big Sur gateway soon.

    Hey Kragus,

Big sur is GREAT! My all time favorite spot in CA is Plaskett Creek. No showers, but toilets. Its tucked up in a nice grove of trees and usually gets sun even when most the coast if foggy. My favorite part is it is right next to Sand dollar beach where you can go hang out on the sand and play. Also near jade cove for some great shorter hikes. Plenty to do without getting in the car.

Some picts here. Post from my build thread. GOOD LUCK! Youll have a blast.
