Thanks for posting this. We are considering a vey similar trip (but starting in CO). Did you do all of Usal Rd? Mind if I ask a few questions about your route?

We did the 27 miles from highway 1 to shelter cove. Piece of cake, with great views. Campground 6 miles in was pretty cool also.
