Default Sportz Truck Tent SUV 82000

The Land Cruiser Lodge is open for camping. Got a new Sportz SUV tent for my 03 Land Cruiser and practiced setting it up in the drive way by myself. Seems pretty easy except for the rain fly. Anyone have experience with this tent?

I have one and I really like it. I got the 84000 I think with the awning. What I found that its definitely a 2 person job to set up especially if it's windy. It held up to like 15 to 20 mph winds one night at Carolina Beach (Freeman Park), near Wilmington, NC. The one trick I found is to (for beach camping at least) dig my sand anchors first so I can attach stuff after I build the tent and try to hold it from blowing away and try to dig / attach it. I use the niteize figure 9 ties and they held really well. http://www.niteize.com/collections/figure-9 Very comfy and it's nice being able to stand up to change / what not without having to go outside. Def. beats sleeping inside the LC with the pup, lady friend, and her pup.

Oh just remember to seal your seams and get some zipper lube for all the zippers. I had a couple of sticky areas on my tent that were quickly resolved. I used the McNett seam grip and zipper lube; but I'm sure you can use whatever.

Thanks for the tips. I can definitely see how it could be a handful to set up in the wind.

(at work, so only mediocre shots)
    Oooh yeah, we love it!!!
I find it as easy and quick to set-up/down as any other tent I've used. Solid in wind and rain, too!
In order to have more headroom in the back of Taco when sleeping, we decided to take down the bed/storage I "built" and instead used it as a carpetted floor... mmmm, cozy
We highly recommend this tent to everyone - price, quality, performance - some friends say we are too intense(sic)
Seam-sealing is must, as with any tent.

Papa Tec - looks like a good setup. I did a solo trip last night to try out the new gear and had no problem setting it myself.

I picked up a Air Bedz Lite for the back of the Land Cruiser and was comfy. Would probably be better if I removed the rear seats but still fits OK with the tailgate open in the tent.

I have one for sale if anyone is interested. It's been set up only once. Loved it, but sold the land rover.
