I'm curious if a camera with these features actually exist for me because I need something a little better than my current P&S which is Nikon S6000.

So far the main thing I will be taking pictures of will be racing events but not much of racing if that makes sense.

Better zoom than 5x
Battery life that will last 8 hours or AA's
Viewfinder to not use LCD

Outside those things I'm really happy with my P&S, and wouldn't mind used but try to stay around $200-$300 period.

Now onto video question using GoPro.

I plan to do time lapse of my road trip to Daytona, what would be good interval?

Also how long do the battery pak with 2 batteries last normally?

I am trying to limit charging it because I will only have access to small inverter for couple days while at a race. I can go into more detail because this also seems to go along with batteries for other camera too.
