You had 2 SUV's that sorta filled the same market.
The Pathy: Age group - 35- 50
Long lasting name
Buyers built in due to the name.
The Xterra: Age group - 22-35
Outdoors
Off road
With 2 SUVs that basically do the same thing one needed to be shifted into this new market. Mid to large size SUVs
I feel like the Armadas days are numbered.. With the pathy going a little larger it leave the Xterras mid size class alone.
And we all know how car companies love to build a few models off one platform. Pathy / JX Xterra/ Frontier

Here's an article with more information about the 2013 Pathfinder. It's 500 lb lighter than the 2012 V6 model. The base FWD model will be priced below $30K, to match the starting prices of the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot, among others. The article has new photos provided by Nissan. The vehicle looks like a larger version of the Subaru Outback.

I seen one of the 2013 Pathfinders today... Since they are close to production the engineers will drive them around Smyrna. I was heading the wrong way or i would have snapped a pix.

I just got off the phone with a couple of guys "in the area" as well. Seems like they're moving along nicely. This is what I get for taking a long weekend for my sister's wedding. Now that I've checked my email, I have a couple of pics. I'm digging the headlights.
Seems like they're experiencing a couple of issues but they'll be taken care of during production.
Can't wait to get my hands on one.
