Northern Tool Hinges

I am getting ready to order my hinges, I have been looking at the 4" and 6" greasable ones. Any feedback from anyone of which work better for an M416 lid? Also, any suggestions on how to latch a side opening lid?

How heavy is your lid going to be ?
Its a nice hinge but even the smaller 4" is substantial, Maybe overkill ??

I think this is the same hinge but includes the specs...

I am expecting around 150 lbs if I had to guess, but with the RTT and lift mech on top I am guessing there could be up to 300lbs up there. I think that is the same hinge. I was thinking 3 - 4" down the one side.

Use the exact same hinges on both sides. On the open side remove the bolt and replace with a lockable receiver hitch pin for security.

The only info I can give is to overkill the beejesus out of it.
You won't ever be sorry with a 900 pound hinge on a 200 pound door. It will stand up to years of abuse.

I like that hinge but your build will decide the length. If it were me and I were unsure.....I would buy the longer one and cut off what worked best for the build.

How were you planning to mount it? Which end on lid vs tub. I've been thinking about the hinge issue myself, but haven't been able to work around the rolled lip of the tub.
