Default Toyota 4x4 motorhome, full-time living in Alaska!

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to share with you my new project.

    www.timmystoyota.blogspot.com

Restoring & fixing up a Toyota 4x4 motorhome. They only made 6 of these guys in the USA, and I got lucky enough to stumble across one. I started a blog that has several videos and pictures of the projects I've done (how-to style) that might help with your own project one day. I also post my whitewater kayaking & speed flying adventures in Alaska (where I live full-time in this motorhome). Hope you guys enjoy, and... does anyone have any opinions on using heat tape on plumbing to keep pipes/water from freezing in the COLD winters (0 to -30degree F)? I'm getting ready to winterize my rig, and looking at the options (I still want to use my shower, water, toilet, BUT I don't have a "plug in to power"... I'm completely off grid with solar panels and a wood stove.

    Cheers,
    Timmy

Awesome! I've been dreaming of doing a similar trip in a camper van for the past 4 years. Just finished school 3 months ago and should be headed up in May if I can save enough money over the winter. I'm jealous!
Will be living and traveling in a custom camper van once I graduate from school!
