    Default wk2 oil change incriment

I searched for this but couldn’t find it. I have a fairly new grand Cherokee 6500 miles I just got my first oil change, when I bought the car I was told by salesman to get it changed every 7500 miles and I know the oil reminder comes on at 7500 because my wife has the same car with more miles. The stealer ship put a sticker on the windshield to have the next oil change in 3000 miles. So my question is what the appropriate mileage for a change is, and I assume the dealer uses non synthetic? I also want to switch to full synthetic but I have the 2 years free maintenance.

when the oil light comes on, when you reset it on the dash, it will let you pick 3k, 5k or 7.5k for the next change.(the wifes let me pick those anyways)

The frequency you change your oil really depends on driving conditions, driving style and oil used. cheap oil, dusty, gritty conditions and stop and go driving kill oil life fast.

On my ZJ Limited with EVIC , which amongst other things tells when oil is low and how long till service, you can change the service interval by turning on ignition (but NOT starting) and press "Select" until the mileage changes (in 1,000 mile increments) then when it flashes up the preferred milage, press "Set"........to reset after service: turn ignition on,, press "Selec" first then press and hold "Set" when ignition is on - and engine off.

Your WK2 hopefully is the same, it should give full details in your Owners Handbook, mine has over two pages of info about the EVIC system.
