Default 2007 Dodge Cummins with new Alaskan

Alright everyone...here is my baby. Put this together with alot of inspiration from Carlyle original build. The Alaskan is an amazing rig. Just not right for our family right now. My loss someones gain. I tried to get exact details here so you all can figure the cost that went into this and see it a good value. If anyone want the invoice from Alaskan I can PM that. Some of you may have seen it at OX12. If not here is an obscenely long picture filled thread. Im located outside of Sacramento CA. We are still using this and will continue until sold. I dont wish to separate at this time.

Price is $62,000. Complete and ready to travel anywhere. Ask any questions please.

Finally the details of the rig.

Dodge 2007 2500 Cummins w/ auto. Last year of 5.9L, can use regular diesel, no urea systems etc. Purchased last September with 45K miles. Currently has 56,300. Engine has had coolant flush and fill this spring. Oil and filter, Amsoil, less than 5000 miles previous. Fuel filter in spring, Wix 0.2 micron. It has aftermarket AEM intake with filter. No other engine mods, has never had tuner attached anywhere by previous owners. Engine runs perfect. Transmission has been drained flushed and filled with Amsoil. Has a Magtec extra capacity aluminum transmission pan. I have the Borg Warner transmission solenoid upgrade piece, not installed yet. Makes a stronger shift for the 48RE trans. All fluids in both differentials and Transfer case have been drained and filled with Amsoil synthetic. No hubs or bearing needed attention. Every zerk fitting has been filled several times to push out old grease.

Suspension is Carli springs (levelling height) in front, spring pack rear. Shocks are Bilstein 5100. Has Carli long travel airbags in rear. Has a Hellwig BigWig swaybar in the rear. Carli steering stabilizer and trackbar up front. Has steering box stabilizer.

Truck is on Toyo 608Z 265/70/19.5 tires. These are Load range G. Approximately 35x11. They are smooth and quiet. Moderately aggressive, between an AT and MT. I have over 10K on them and there is no visible wear. They are mounted on black powder coated Vision Type 81 aluminum rims.

Truck is averaging 14 MPG all loaded up. Total weight when loaded with full fuel (39 gallons, I moved the tank vent to gain 4 gallons) and 50Gallons of H2O, including all sides loaded with recovery gear, tools, compressor etc, is 10900 lbs.

The flat bed is a 9ft aluminum bed from Ute Ltd. My wife and I lifted it when I installed it , maybe 150 lbs. Has a 10K wt rating from factory. I built steel frames for the space under the sides of camper. 4 doors with matching locks. All covered in .09” aluminum. They are approximately 18” tall and run the full length of camper, 10’. the Alaskan rest on 1/4” recycled tire rubber mat, effectively making a gasket to decrease the possibility of moisture problems down the road.

Now for the Alaskan specs. Built December 2011. It is a cabover 10’ double couch. It has most every option from Alaskan. NovaKool fridge with Danfoos compressor, Thetford cassette toilet, extended cabover for queen plus size bed. I can send anyone the invoice if inerested. The couches are 44” on either side. They are covered in a rich brown leather. Folds flat to sleep 2. My wife and I fit nicely when stealth camping with the top down. It has the Alaskan furnace plus a Wave catalytic heater. The cat heater kept it warm down to the teens for us this winter. It also has a Coleman 9200 BTU AC unit. It can run off a 2000 watt generator. We have only tested it plugged in. Havent felt the need for a generator or the AC . I has dual water tanks. Total water including hot water tank is 48 gallons. It also has an Everpure H-54 water filter with dispenser. This Everpure removes lead, giardia, histoltica, cryptsporidium, chlorine and all particles bigger than 0.5 microns. We fill up from anywhere and it tastes good and is safe.

It has a custom designed solar system, put together for me by Arizona Wind and Solar. It has a 150 Watt panel on one side of roof with junction box, so you can add a second. That connects to a TriStar TS 45 controller with a Trimetric Battery Monitoring system. It has a Magnum Energy MM612 inverter with ME remote. I have chosen 2-6 volt batteries for a total of 220 aH. This system powers everything I need. You could add a second panel and bigger inverter and run microwaves, power tools whatever you want. All wiring is set up for a 300 watt panel array and a 2000 watt inverter. Solar controller will handle the upgrading as well. It has a Fiamma F35 awning on the outside as well.

This truck runs and works perfectly. We just spent 2 weeks at OX 12 then around AZ,CO,UT including Point Sublime and Toroweap in the North Rim of GC. Thanks

After spending time in my FWC, all I can say is that Alaskan is gorgeous inside. It really reminds me of a well made sail boat.

Thanks it really is terrific. Just more than we really need. Unfortunately it took us a ton of cash to really appreciate we need less!! Gonna head back into another LC...I think.
