    Default air conditioner with RTT

Has anybody tried using an air conditioner with their tent?
I tried setting a 5000btu on a drywall bucket which was on the ground, and sticking out the door of the annex facing the ladder. This did not work very well. I am thinking of making some kind of shelf that would hold it up to window level. Any thoughts on this?

There is a South American RTT manufacture (could be long gone or could have been a one time deal) that had a 'port' for an air conditioning unit. I know pics of it have been posted here on ExPo in the past. Here is an EeziAwn w/AC: http://www.expeditionportal.com/foru...-in-the-market

There are small air conditioning units made to cool dog houses that may work.

If you live somewhere less humid that Maryland then try an evaporation cooler from Swampy.net

I see small portable ones like the dog house ones on construction sites. I saw one just today at St Joes on wheels. If its there in the morning I'll get the name of it.

We have a ClimateRight for our camper shell, it works really well. It's been in the upper 100's here in Texas and the ClimateRight was awesome, we had to stop by Walmart to buy an additional blanket, we were freezing at night!AC.jpg

There was another thread here on ExPo, where a guy used a small window A/C unit in his RTT.

He mounted it on a rack just outside the side window, and made some kind of sleeve to seal it up.

That way, he didn't have to cut any holes in the RTT.

in venezuela is very common to see air conditioners in RTTs, almost 90% of RTT manufacturers here have a hole in the tent that you can put a 5000btu air conditioner...

    here are some pics:

They even sell a bag to put the unit in:
