Yes there are lots of places to go in BC

I am going to build a set of steps like that to slide underneath my flatbed for my camper, and slide out when needed, that way it won't be a huge hassle for trying to stor them.
That is hopfully the same plan as I have just need the time to do it.

Do you mind if I ask how thick the stairs you built are when folded? Do you think steps could be made to 2 inches thick (total height) and still be sturdy? That's ideally the room I have to work with. Thanks,
Mine are about 4" thick they are made out of 1.5"x1.5" 1/8" tube
I was going to use 1"x1" but did not have enough(i made them out of scrap lying around)
They flex a bit but you can have to 200+ pound guys on them and no prob

I want to build some sort of fold down step that can be used when towing a trailer and for when travleing from place to place b/c there is not enough room to get the stairs out when the trailer is there and the tounge is in the way unless you jack knife the whole combo.

    Here is a link: http://www.petstep.com

I got it through Amazon for around $100 i think.
It folds in half and is pretty light. It has a rubbery feel to the tread and has great traction even when wet.
    Rated to 500 lbs.
Works great for my aging 100 lb Rot and for me also.

    Default how about these...

they are mine and i'd like to get rid of them.
I now have electric jacks so most of the time, the camper is low enough to the ground and when I leave it on the truck I just use the fold up type as they are easier to carry

Body by Jake steps. I started this today. Will finish tomorrow, but this brain fart hit me today as I was coming back from the vet after Gus got his rattlesnake vaccine. The top step "firmflex" will be removable and the unit flips 180 for travel unless I am towing then the entire thing can either go in the boat or the kayak trailer. Photo with blue paint on tred edges is there so no one misses a step and falls. 100% recycled material for the entire project.

I went with the easy solution. 3 step Werner aluminum step ladder. Under $30 at home depot and can be used all around the truck for; washing windows, washing the truck, reaching one of those high lights to change a bulb, etc...
I put grip tape on each step as well as the top. Has worked great for a year of full time use so far.

    I described my solution here:

    http://jimthetruck.blogspot.co.uk/20...d-ladders.html

It's a set of aluminium steps from an army auction place in the UK, with some custom brackets made to store the steps on the tail-lift at the back of the truck when I'm travelling. It might be harder to store the steps on a smaller camper and I'm not sure if the US army casts of anything similar.

This is the only pic I've found of the steps I'd like to make. Their design dictates that the steps would always be level regardless of where the base hits the ground. Raise them up and they slide right in under the body. If it were me I'd cut the four feet off the bottom for a more stable base.

    Anybody seen these for sale?

I've got my ticket for the long way 'round, the one with the prettiest of views.
It's got mountains, it's got rivers, it's got sights to give you shivers, but it sure would be prettier with you.
