    Default Air line setup

    So I have a question about running new air lines.

    I currently run a viair 200 PSI 5 Gallon dual compressor OBA system. I love it, but the only issue i have is needing more locations on the rig to connect to. I have it all mounted in the spare tire well, so I don't have any dirt or water issues with it, but with the rear bumper it's a pita to open the rear hatch when I just need some quick air.

    My question is what type of lines should I use to plum it to the front and back of my rig? I would love to use something small like hard wired brake lines, but don't know much about pressures and air leakage. Any thoughts, tips, suggestions?

    i use the plastic line that viair sells with there kits.. i havent had any breaks in the five years its been installed.. I also had luck with the arb lines...
    Cant find a link to the viair stuff but i did find the arb stuff..

    You can certainly use steel hard lines (like brake lines) but be sure to use something with at least .25" diameter or larger to ensure adequate air flow. I plan to use the DOT air brake lines used on large trucks. You can get the line and fittings for good prices on line via ebay, et al.

    I used 3/8 copper lines in my Land Rover. I had the plastic but when the kids kicked the ones under the front seats they leaked. No problems with the copper line and they've been in for almost a year. I just used the 45 degree flare stuff for all the joints. I would give the air brake stuff a try first, it would be alot easier to work with. Here's a pic of my setup

    Thanks guys! I am going to look into the air brake lines. they seem to be cheap, and should hold up to my 200psi setup.
