This is the time of year that bears are fattening up for the winter. After three years of living in Alaska and camping around Kodiak Island, I gained a healthy respect for bears of the 1200 pound variety. No matter how good the roof top tent, it aint good 'nuff there unless it's on a double decker bus. And those are very tricky to find a good suspension for. I always had the 10mm Glock at hand to fight my way back to the 12ga Mossberg with Cape Buffalo slugs in 3" Magnums. And I could never be out for more than two nights anyway - that is all I can take without any sleep...
No matter what the keyboard experts say about the effectiveness of bear spray, I want a tank to sleep in while in bear country. Maybe this is a good idea instead:
