    Default 01' Rooftop storage

I know this may need to go into "storage solutions" but I thought it may get a little more traction here.
I am debating on wether or not to buy a Yakima Skybox 21 or just get a BajaRack, Gamavitti or a Pioneer Platform like you see in the link.

Originally, I was going to just get the Skybox because I can just throw it on the wife's Suburban for when we go on vacations. Storage can be an issue when we have the jogging stroller and pack & play. If we didn't have those two things, then it would be a different story.
Anyway, I am kind of liking the idea of being able to have an awning when needed and it would come in handy at tailgates too. They can hold a lot of cargo but weather could be an issue. I do not plan on getting a RTT, so I don't want to build around that. My only concern with the Rhino is it's completely flat. i would prefer some kind of side rail for better latching points. That is where the Baja looks to come in play.
this is my everyday truck and on occasion the truck may see a parking garage but I almost always try to find a parking place in a lot or on the street. the quieter the better and, of course, MPG consideration is a plus.
    So, what are your thoughts?

I think it just depends on how much you will use the roof rack/awning. If used on a regular basis, then the rack makes sense. But just for a few trips out of the year, I would just get the Skybox or a cargo bag. I personally like the cargo bag better, but if you're worried about security, the Skybox may be the better choice.

Another cargo option is the hitch cargo carrier. Won't affect MPG as much as a rack.

Yea, I think I am going to go with a cargo bag for the roof or a hitch cargo carrier. I'm also looking into the Outback Drawers.
