Excellent upgrade.
When you eliminate the fan you just remove the fan from the existing pulley which has the belt on it..The pulley remains, just the fan assembly is removed.. I believe the fan is on the water pump drive.???..
The water pump is driven by the timing belt. The fan is located on the cooling fan bracket assy which has the fan and a pulley that drives the alternator on the SOHC 12 valve engine and drives the alternator and power steering pump on the SOHC/DOHV 24 valve engines.I believe the fan is on the water pump drive.???..

A shrouded electric fan will move more cfm than any mechanical fan when the vehicle is at low speeds or a stop which is where its needed. it will work just fine.
