I started with a project that Matt from the forum had. The wife surprised me with it. That's a long story. Here's what it looked like when I got it home.
Then i moved onto the frame. I added 1 more crossbrace and had to narrow the axle about 4". I just cut the axle in half then bolted it in place and marked where they met and cut 1 side. Then sleeved the inside of the axle tube and welded it all together.
After the frame was done I moved back to the tub. I pounded out a few of the bad dents but left the smaller ones. I figured this thing is a 1962 it just adds character(I got lazy). Then started the 2 coats of Durathane white.
I had new fenders made cause the original ones were pretty beat up. Now she was ready to use but far from done. I made some bows for the canvas top out of 1/2" pvc, worked out perfect till I can make a hard cover.
Dude! I found your missing crossmember in the garage while I was working on my trailer this weekend!
I dont know how it didnt get in the pile with the rest of the parts.
You are correct sir she did buy it for me as a early birthday gift. She is pretty awesome . She also suggested we just load up the trailer and leave for this week that I'm off work.
