Default High quality folding bolt cutters?

I need a good bolt cutters. Preferably one that will fold up and fit inside of my tool kit.

Can anyone recommend a good folding bolt cutter?

Only ones I have found are at Sears. My friend bought one and so far it has done a great job of cutting things and seems to be holding up well. Other then those I've not seen any others.

I've carried a set Js 14'' long bolt cutters for many years. They are short enough to stow easily and when they don't provide enough length to get the job done, I've whipped out a couple of ten-twelve inch cheater bars that slip over the handles. Js products are quality made tools that IMHO stand up to the rigors required for an off-road tool kit.

Perhaps the OP can buy a set of long handled bolt cutters, cut the long handles short, then use cheater bars slipped over the ends? My idea behind this is, the longer handled bolt cutters jaw mechanism might be build stronger to accommodate the increased power from the long handles unlike short cutters which may not be.

solid suggestion...although anything that I've come across that required more force than the cutters offered was taken care of with a hack saw.

Sometimes you don't want to spend time using a hack saw especially on hardened steel... especially if the police will catch you! JK LOL.

I found these on Amazon. Haven't used them yet, but they feel well made, and they fit nicely in my trail bag when folded.

Very interesting. Let us know how they work out for ya. If they are worth it, I might buy a set and save myself a little storage space.
