Sportsmobile alternative

We were just at the Southeast Overland Rally and Exp in Murphy, NC http://www.overlandrally.com/Overland_Rallies_and_Workshops/Southeast.html (posts #374 & #381) where we saw some VERY nice 4WD van conversions from U-Joint Offroad http://www.ujointoffroad.com/. You can see some of the pictures of the vans at this thread: http://www.expeditionportal.com/for...n-Regional-Overland-Rally-and-Workshop-Thread.

They make a LOT of accessories and had some HUGE roof racks on display for their vans. The Sportsmobiles may be out of the price range for a lot of people, and this company seems to offer a good alternative and offers good quality kits and pieces if you wanted to "do it yourself." They are on the East coast too which may help geographically if you ever were to purchase one of these machines.

PS The ambulance conversion was awesome too. I believe the guy said he paid less than $4,000 for the base vehicle. This is an alternative for a donor vehicle that I wouldn't have considered before.

UJOR you say? Never heard of them.... :coffeedrink:

:D

I'll have to check this company out.

You do that. Do your research :)

Thanks for the plug, no matter where it is! I got your VM, sorry that I haven't called back. I'm pulling full throttle 14-16hr days trying to get V4 done since I have to drive it cross country in less than 2 weeks. Always fun with these big builds!
