My little offroad trailer - David Bradley build

I've been needing to post this for some time now - I finally got things finished up around early Sept. since that time, I pulled it about 2,500 miles back and forth to WA for a bow hunting trip and I've taken some shorter trips around CO. It works great for my needs. I mounted the RTT in Sept and since then I have spent 15 nights in it and it works great. It is mounted to a Trac Rac system that I modified to fit the trailer.

I re-wired the trailer for 7-pim hitch. I can charge my batteries while driving, power the LED lights on the trailer via the vehicle <or> via trailer battery. I have solar panels for keeping the trailer batteries topped off during camp-mode. The electrical panel is mounted inside a modified ammo can. It is waterproof and has room inside for spare bulbs, fuses and such.

I fabricated a new tongue and hitch - added 20" of length to the hitch to make it slightly more forgiving when in reverse. I fabricated a rack for the front. This rack will hold any combination of (6) water or fuel cans. It also works perfectly for 4 cans and 1 propane bottle. I typically travel with 2 Gas / 2 H2O / 1 propane. They are secured to the trailer via chain/padlock.

I modified/repaired a used house-mounted awning to fit the trailer and it works great and cost nothing.

Thanks. The ammo can was a rather hasty decision, but it has worked well.

Couple of additional things that I've learned through this process - I like having the open trailer - I pack all of my gear in pelican cases n the back; things are easily kept organized - no need for a trailer lid, etc. this way the trailer stays much more modular for other uses. I went on a 2-day fly fishing trip this past weekend and just through my pelican case filled with my fly fishing gear in the back and took off. No worry of rain/dust. I have a few other amenities that I didn't go into but nothing you guys aren't already familiar with (hot water, shower tent, porta-potty, gas grill, 2 tables, cookware, ARB fridge, etc). For my WA trip, I had all of that stuff and believe it or not a 10 CuFt. Chest freezer and a Honda 2k also in the back for elk/deer meat (post hunt). Worked like a champ.
