109 box installed.JPG The 109 box installed. Uses the same mounting hardware as the cargo bed = direct swap.

Next on the list ( oh my the list grows) is installing a hard top, new seats, mud flaps, title (I am the first civilian owner), registration, insurance. Oh, still working on locating the spare tire and dreaming about how to repaint the entire rig....like a giraffe maybe ?

Battle ship gray, and paint the rivets with a rust color... WWII style pin-up girl on the side. I'm in phoenix, if you ever need a hand, let me know, I would love to see that best in action!

Did you source the Deuce at the local yard here?

Is the DMV giving you any grief about making it street legal, I would assume no since it is so easy making dirt bikes and ATV's street legal here.

Very interesting. I think we've had some other duece-and-a-half builds here but I've never seen an A3 built up (the A3 was the "modernized" deuce, they took an old, tired M35A2 and put in a fresh engine, auto tranny to replace the old clunky manual box, and best of all, they added power steering.)

I spent many hours driving A2 deuces in Germany and Korea. That manual tranny and manual steering made me feel like I was driving a by-God TRUCK!! But it was no fun to have to turn around on those narrow roads.

The A3's we had in the CO National Guard had constant problems with the CTIS, so I would watch that. It's a great system when it works, and it may be that spotty maintenance was the issue with our trucks.

Good to hear some feedback, I have been eyeballing the Oshkosh classifieds. Have been looking at the 5 tons though.
