So last night I was doing my weekly search on ebay for used 12 volt fridges/freezers and came across this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-Co...=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557. I started researching it and found the spec sheet here http://www.marinespecialists.com/Tundra/port.html, turns out it's made by Dometic and uses a Danfoss compressor. Even with the "buy it now" price I stole it, just another example of a seller not really knowing what they are selling. Only downside is he doesn't have the wire basket that goes inside, but that's easy to resolve.

Looks like a good product to me.. Nice sleek look. Functional. What looks to be a good price to me (never bought one though - so couldn't say for sure).

From an outsider lookin in... I think you got a good one there. Hopefully it works well for ya! Where are ya putting it?

it's certainly worth the price of admission....even if it craps out in 2 years it's at least worth trying out. Buy a desktop organizer basket from Staples, if you think you really need a basket for your food, otherwise stack it in there like you would any old cooler.

Let us know how well it works.

I already snagged a few different baskets from a thrift store, so we will see which one fits when it arrives. As for quality, it is built for marine use so it should take a beating for awhile. Other fridge/freezers on the market around the 40 liter size with a Danfoss compressor start around $550, so I'm glad I saved a ton on it.

The seller is actually a complete moron, he is now asking for more money to ship it because he screwed up, ebay is aware and getting involved so grab some popcorn.

Bummer. Good luck. If he backs out and tries to sell again for a higher price I hope it gets bid through the roof and then that deal goes south. What a tool.

Looks like someone figured out how much it was "worth" after the auction ended.. :coffee:

It finally arrived today after a lot of hassle with the seller. At the moment I am taking the vented cover off so I can clean everything out with an air nozzle and cotton rag, then I am going to plug it in and play with the settings to see how long it takes to get to freezing, and later tonight I will toss a bottle of water in it to see if it is frozen in the morning. But other than a partially busted latch that is an easy fix everything looks good.
