A new USA motorcycle company called US Highland is about to release its first products. Highland makes its own single and V-Twin engines, and allows the customer to design the finished bike from an extensive list of parts. Check it out here http://www.ushighland.com/
The company will also offer pre-configured bikes. Their first product is called the Street Tracker, and looks like the Harleys that dominated flat track racing in the early 1970s. Minimal headlight and taillight, plus muffler makes the bike street legal. Future products will include street and adventure travel versions.
US Highland may have a problem with the name. Mert Lawwill, who was the AMA flat track series champion for several years, modifies Harleys to look like the HD factory team bikes that Lawwill rode in competition. Lawwill calls his replicas StreetTracker, too.
