WOW!! That's well thought out!!

Thanks, I spend a lot of time travelling (for work unfortunately) so get lots of time do draw and redraw making mistakes on paper is easy because you can just start a new version and look at most things and plan around the issues, spending hours on places like this, picking up ideas and adding them to the design, then realising you have made it far to heavy/complicated/overpriced and then pairing it back to something that would work!!

This way of building suits me and usually means I end up with something close to the picture in my head.

edlaffoon, Of all the custom built boxes with all the time put into them, I think you win the award for most simple, yet easy to get to everything.

It's the equivalent of a Bug Out Bag for your truck! I'm stealing some of those ideas!

I like your use of the slide locks and L-brackets for the drawers keeps. It's simple, economical, and fool proof. Good job.

I followed the above link, but they also have locking drawer slides. Anyone used them? looks the same as the other heavy duty slides but with a lock when closed and open . I plan on using one of my drawers as a table like many of you have done (Thanks for the inspiration!) and it looks like these lock in the out position.

I have almost finished my unit now with the addition of power (mains and 12v) and the sleeping extension so thought I would add some more photos whilst the original post was not that far away (page 69, 689)

So I added a power strip to the back of the unit together with 3 12v/20a outlets

All of the power is up and running the system can either run of a mains hook-up or a 12v inverter.

I then modified the blank wing outlet to allow the 240v inlet I will also add an jump start Anderson connection in the wing.

The sleeping platform is supported by four folding braces/legs that are fixed to the lower part of the dog guard, the shelf and extension then form the rest of the sleeping platform and are fastened down with thumb screws.

So I get a full double bed, the head end is raised by an inch I did this intentionality as I didn't want to sleep 'downhill' I made a mattress from 4 inch memory foam covered with waterproof canvas.

Folded up the platform legs are 120cm so will fit across the width of the truck under the seats.

I made a fold down shelf for the back door, the paint finish went wrong so will need doing again but it will do for now.

When in 'normal use' the extended sleeping platform becomes a shelf for coats and lightweight bits, it is fastened with a couple of brackets.

I want to build some drawers for my Wagoneer, but the tailgate does not open down flat. It is angled up slightly. Do any of you have a Wagoneer?
If I build any for this truck I will have to raise them up about 4"(10cm) to clear it. I really don't want to have the wasted space under them. Any ideas? Suggestions?

I have a couple waggy's.

I have thought about this very thing, and why can't you just build drawers with the same angle as the tail gate?
Personally I think I am going to skip the big drawers, and construct cabinets of sorts over the rear wheel wells. Then build a sliding shelf to store stuff underneath.
The shelf then can slide out, and go on the deck to sleep on.
