JPNCA's 416

I figured I would start a build thread. This site really helped me to figure out what I wanted to do as we'll an registering it.

I grew up camping out of a Bantom trailer so I always wanted one.
As it happened I found what I believe to be a 416 on a ranch and talked the guy into parting with it.
It was in pieces and needed help

My main goal is to set it up to tow behind our TJ on camping trips

I had a friend make a new longer tongue

I swapped out the axle for one with 5 on 4.5 lugs to match the TJ
I wanted to keep it a spring under so I spaced the fenders with all- thread and washers

Other additions is an ammo box on the tongue, a vice mounted to it, a TJ rear tire carrier and a rattle can paint job

I'm sorry it's not the best write up and like all projects it will never be finished finished

Thanks to all for the help and ideas

Nice, I like the fender spacers.

Do you have any pictures of how the trailer tongue is attached to the M416 frame? I'd like to make the tongue on mine longer, and have been comtemplating how to do it.

Not yet. Still kicking around what I'm going to do with it.
Just didn't take it off when I used the TJ spare tire mount

It's the same as the stock axle
I took the old one in and had it matched
There is an offset on the wheels though

A quick update on the fender modification I made

When your daughter catches a rock with the trailer the tire will hit the fender :rally_guys:
