Pics?

My new best buddy Mike The Welder is on his way over, but here are some pics pre-fixed. Damned thing looks like swiss cheese in this light.

I can't believe how close it sits to being perfectly level with the jeep. Pure dumb luck. Hope it maintains this when both are full of stuff.

More Pics

Mike did an awesome job, better than I would have done for sure.

First coat of bedliner in, it would look a lot better if the roller didn't leave those stupid diagonal lines. Second coat going on in about 30-45 minutes.

Bedliner Done

If this bedliner turns out to be durable, I'll be happy with it. It looks DIY, but not too bad.

In preparation for my first trip with the trailer next weekend, I added bulb seal to the tailgate. I also removed the weatherstripping around the lid and replaced it with the bulb seal. The weatherstripping wasn't doing anything because before I did this, I could see daylight from inside the tub with the lid closed. Now, it's nice and dark with the lid closed.

Changed out the bearings and the races today. I'll use the old ones as spares.

We're headed out to the K-trail on Thursday for our first trip with the trailer. It will be nice to have the extra space.

Back from the K Trail

The trip went pretty well, except it was just too dang cold. I cut the trip 1 day short. We did most of the K trail, all the difficult parts anyway.

I was a little worried about the new bearings but I stopped several times in the first 2 hours to check them for heat. After that we were doing 75 mph most of the way. The trailer pulls great.

This was my first time taking a trailer on a trail, and it went pretty well. A couple of places had me nervously watching it in the mirror, but for the most part it was like it wasn't there.

It was so nice being able to put stuff in the trailer instead of trying to find a place for it in the jeep.

I'll have pics later.

The bulb seal looks real good. Would you mind posting a few of the tailgate and top open/closed at the seal? Also, would you mind sharing where you picked it up from? Thanks

I'll get some later, but it pretty much looks like a squished piece of rubber. I think I'm "oversquishing" it, but it works. No dirt or mud made it in the trailer this weekend.

I got it at Autozone, it comes in 8 ft lengths.

I got my RTT mounted up today. Eventually I will get some kind of height adjustable platform for the tent built, but this will work for now.
