"and I bet there is a pub at the end of that track. . ."
I think theres one at just about the end of every track in the UK
even if its a bridleway- and those pubs still have horse hitchs !
Historically the green lanes trails and bridleways originate from roman roads and the local transport system- based on foot or 4 hooved transportation back a few hundred years before the US was discovered:coffeedrink:
They are protected by a variety of laws.....but vehicular transport is usually the first one to be closed off in certain areas.
I'll be home at easter for a week of walking the new forest and the Jurrasic coast with a healthy topping of pub lunches
Actually just remembered a pub which has its own landing strip.....
for parapenters who jump of the down west of Corfe Castle !
Up north there's still a lot more of open moor and green laning, in the South we've got more bridleways and single tracks for walking and mountain bikes.
Salisbury plain still has some awsome lanes and playgrounds......just watch out for the tanks !
and if camping - insure your surrounded by trees....
Night vison - tanks and tents don't mix very well
Nice pics----I can just taste a good pint of scrumpy !
