The Australian Perenties latest sales

The first batch of Perentie Land Rovers were sold last week. The 6x6 fetched $40,000, and the rare hard top command and survey units went for over $25,000, the GS and FFR canvas backs were going for 12/15k. Still silly prices but with another 3500 due out, prices will drop..

If anybody wants one give a shout..

Wow! They look tremendous. Pricey, but some very special stuff. Thanks for the images with all the detail.

That 5 door SW is excellent.

3.9L Isuzu 4BD1T engines and LT85 5 speed gearboxes in all of these.

Actually, the 4x4s have naturally aspirated 4BD1s and all versions are fitted with the much stronger LT95 four speed gearbox, same as the 1984/85 civvy spec One Tens in Aus, such as mine. The third axle output on the sixby and the PTO for the winch is not adaptable to any other gearbox unless you divorce an LT95 transfer from its gearbox. The LT85 is stronger than an LT77 but not as resilient to the Isuzu's torque rattle as the LT95.

Might be close to 25 years old - here is a quote from the Wiki site:

"part manufactured and assembled in Moorebank NSW, Australia during the second half of the 1980s and into the 1990s. It was based on the Land Rover Defender 110, and introduced in 1987 to replace the ageing fleet of Series 2A and 3 Land Rovers"

The first batch for sale were 1988 to 1991 builds. I'd be surprised if none of the US LR importers has their eye on the sales already, it could be quite a lucrative business...
