Torsion axle? Anybody use one?

Do any of you that run the torsion axle, have brakes? I am wondering what the torsional effect of the stopping brake has on the movement of the axle.
Also, has anyone ever made any attempt at mounting a shock on the trailing arm?

I think most of the trailers I have built over the last 25 some years, have had brakes. I really would not have an off road trailer without brakes. Saw a near roll on Rose garden Hill because a light military type trailer pushed the truck to the very edge jack knifing it. Brakes it would never have happened.

I see no problems with them on the torsion axle. No more than any axle, but I am not an engineer by any means. But Dexter and Alko both make their axles with brakes. And they supply hundreds of thousands of torsion axles.

Well, after removing the old axle, I've decided to stick with a conventional axle since it looks like I'll be able to install it easily enough.
