Trailer Body Aluminum or Steel?

I'm planning a build and keep going back and fourth on using Aluminum or Steel for building the body.
I will be using a M101A1 frame with Dexter 3500 axle and 33" tires for a foundation. My thought is to make some steel rocker type guards around the sides (tires/fenders) but use Aluminum structure and 1/8" Aluminum skin for the body and lid. There is no doubt steel will be stronger but is the added weight worth it?
Everyone please weigh in with thoughts and suggestions.

My frame is steel

the panels as glued and rivited aluminum- no welding required- no corrosion because of the caulk between

Mine were all offcuts from the local sheet steel supplier bought by the lb

Mine is much lighter than If I had done with steel

Same here, sheets are glued and rivited.
For more durability sometimes I add welded subframes out of square tubed steel (about 3/4" x 1/16", 20mmx1,5mm exactly), zinc plated afterwards of course.
And I hate the additional work of painting the stuff, when it's ready to go! It's not necessary at all!
Ok, it looks much better, sometimes. :sombrero:

me too. welded up a steel frame and then skinned with aluminium treadplate. still have to cap the edges, but you get the idea:
