ARB Releases Deluxe Bull Bar for Land Rover LR4

E-mail Print PDF

For those of us in North America, the LR4 remains the most capable vehicle that Land Rover currently sells in North America for overland travel and off-roading. Essentially an LR3 with some upgraded features and styling, it's proven itself to be even more reliable and capable on the trail and that's why we're exited when we see more accessories being launched for it like ARB's new Deluxe Bull Bar. The factory bumper provides no solid recovery or jacking points, and leaves the vehicle vulnerable to trail damage, with ARB's bumper, you'll never have to worry about that again.

E-mail Print PDF

Earlier today we showed you some leaked images of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover—it turns out that those actually were correct, and as of less than an hour ago, the new Range Rover has been unveiled. The new model promises to keep the legendary off-road capability while transforming it's on-road handling and agility. 2012 Suzuki V-Strom - First Impressions

E-mail Print PDF

Last week I had the chance to ride the new 2012 Suzuki V-Strom ABS 650. This wasn't just a jaunt around the block but rather a 400-mile only-stop-for-fuel-and-ice-cream ride across the flat desert highways and mountain twisties of California and Arizona. After picking up the bike from Suzuki and a short spin around the parking lot for familiarization I was off and running.

2014...er...2013 Range Rover Images Leaked!

E-mail Print PDF

With the current model Range Rover seeing more than just one face lift since it's introduction in 2003, we've all known that Land Rover would soon be releasing a new flagship model. The question however was what would it look like, and would it retain that class-leading off-highway performance that we've come to expect. In true Land Rover fashion, it appears there's a leak, but this time it's not from the engine or gearbox, it's from their marketing department with these images of the all-new 2014 Range Rover. La Aduana: Restored Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 with Corvette Engine

E-mail Print PDF

If you're looking for an FJ40 that has few of the drawbacks you traditionally get with an older car...and you don't want to drop the money on an ICON, check out this FJ40 that has had a newer Corvette engine stuffed under the hood. The vehicle, for sale right here on Expedition Portal, was built by Proffitt's Cruisers where the owner spent nearly $70,000 having almost every nut and bolt replaced. In addition to the build LS5 there's front and rear disk brakes on FJ60 axles built with chromoly gears, axles, and ARB air lockers but the upmost in performance and strength. There's a huge list of incredibly desirable upgrades on this FJ40, and with the vehicle being priced at $45,000 (obo) there's no way you could ever built something for the same price.

Pat Around the Americas: Days 61 to 62 – to Loja, Ecuador

E-mail Print PDF

Leaving Chiclayo at 6 in the morning I was soon pleased that I didn´t press on the night before. The road ahead changed from irrigated fields, to scrublands and then into the open Sechura Desert, which showed the signs of an area habitually challenged by winds. At least with such an early start I had beaten the worst of it. And in fairness to Peru there were ready signs that they were actively trying to calm this area of the landscape, with tree planting projects in evidence along the more open areas. Before tackling this stretch of land I did the silly thing of reading up on the area in my guidebook. It noted that the Sechura has been recently home to bandit attacks and bike riders should not attempt to cross it solo. While I´m sure they meant cyclists, I couldn´t help releasing a sigh of relief as we rolled into Piura, some 200kms later.
