Anyone curious to know who just turned 81 years old? Why it's none other than this 'Explorer of the Universe' William Shatner!
I know what you're thinking, this is totally random for Expedition Portal? I don't really think it is, Shatner was the face of Star Trek for many of us who grew up in the 60's and 70's, and at least I felt that Star Trek was all about exploration, "To boldly go where no man has gone before". He's also likely encouraged millions to travel through his Priceline advertisements!
When I was a kid, I used to dream of being an explorer. When I actually thought about that, the realistic option was to be someone like the guys from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, racing across the African plains, roping giraffes from a speeding Land Rover.
But when I let my dreams soar, and thought big, I dreamed of being the captain of the Starship Enterprise. Seeking out new life in a distant galaxy.
And it's hard to beat the Enterprise for a tricked-out expedition vehicle.
All it needed was a roof-rack.
