It seems the best way for a company to give a "first look" at a new product these days is to "accidentally" leak an image of it onto the internet—from there they really don't need to do anything else. Either way, earlier today KTM accidentally put this image up on their website, showing the re-designed 2013 1190 Adventure, something we've all been waiting some time for. With the leaked image showing 150 PS (roughly 148 hp) the new-model appears to be going head-to-head with the Ducati Multistrada with comparable power.
With that much power, and a claimed wet weight of 518 lbs...we're sure that the new 1190 Adventure is going to be epic. To sweeten the deal, the new bike is reported to have a drive-by-wire system which allows for switchable throttle maps, selectable ABS, and Traction Control.
Hell For Leather puts it best by adding "...and yes, even variabel sitzposition und windschild for all the various sizes of fuhrers und frauleins out there." If you haven't checked them out, it's one of our favorite sites, and where we were clued into the leak.
The image was leaked on ADVRider [link] and we heard about it on Hell For Leather. [link]
