You're actually not looking at the motorcycle Pat McCarthy is riding from Ushuaia to Alaska, I know it's cruel to mess around with people in the United States when it comes to Yamaha's middle-weight dual sport, the Tenere XT660, but you'll have to wait for that. First I'm going to tell you a little bit about what Pat is doing, we've already established that he's riding from Ushuaia to Alaska, but why is he doing it? Along the route of his trip, Pat is attempting to raise money for UNICEF, through donations on the blog he maintains on his trip (which you can also read on Expedition Portal.) The Welshman is also doing it to have fun, naturally.

Pat stands proudly infront of Idris, the name he chose for his motorcycle.

This windscreen has seen a lot of miles lately.

Stickers from around the world adorn Pat's panniers.

Pat uses a sheepskin seat cover for breathability.

The Tenere has various scratches from its use.

I think that's the best exhaust I've ever seen on a dual-sport.

Registration stickers from Great Britan

Spare fuel for camping stoves.

A mount from Touratech holds his GPS.

Security wrap for his additional bags.

He's been to the world's end with this motorcycle!

Pat additionally writes for Adventure Bike Rider to finance his trip.

His favorite modification so far has been the addition of Pivot-Pegs.

Pat provides Expedition Portal with his blogs in an effort to draw more attention to his fundraising efforts with UNICEF. You can help Pat reach his goal here [link] as he continues to ride throughout the Americas. Follow along daily for updates.
