Wife! Congratulations!

I just made a sleeping platform myself. I think you're a bit shorter than me. It should work out perfectly for you two.

Thanks man! Finally made it official :D I think you're right a platform would work even for both of us together. As much as I love the J30 I'm not sure I can justify the cost at this point, but it's still on my wish list.

Your Jeep looks great. very tasteful mods. The front bumper is sweet too. And hey, Orange is the best color!:wings:

That's awesome! Congrats to you both, and may it be a fantastic journey.

Well I cleaned up the Jeep the other night after work, and I couldn't help but think how much better it would look on 37" KO2s :D. I also was looking at the AEV Saltas since they were released, and I went to my local 4x4 shop that had a set of onyx Saltas in stock and bought them and headed over to the tire shop. I really dig the setup, and I think I was able to tighten up the turning radius by ditching the spacers. There was nothing wrong per se with the Duratracs, but I've encountered a few situations where I really wished for a larger tire (especially when the DTs were aired down) climbing rocks and ledges.

That looks awesome. Don't even look like 37's. the saltas are awesome wheels!
Curse you Perry the Platypus! I have the same lift and wondered what 37's, in KO2's, would look like. For me though it would be on the Saverges. Now i am thinking anyone need a nice set of Pro-Comps with KM2 in 35's?

Perfect match for your build

Sa-WEET!

I really liked your rig on the stock silver wheels and 35" tires, so it took me a bit of looking at the black Salta rims to "get it".
But now, when I go back and look at the silver stock rims they seem a bit "much" for your build.
Awesome addition with the 37" tires.
My compliments to the :chef:. :victory:

I also totally get where you are coming from about clearance when aired down. Going to 37" tires is another inch and a half, under axles and gas tank. :)

Can you post a side shot of each of you have it? I'm curious about this myself. The proportions of the 37s are better too. Tall and thinner looking. A lot of the 35x12.5s look too marshmallows for me.

Glad you didn't give up on your jeep yet. Hopefully these will get some good use!

Thanks gents - appreciate the feedback! I measured the tires mounted up, and they are right at 35.5" which is consistent with most of what I've read from other JKUR owners. My Duratracs were only measuring 33.6", so I gained some good clearance and improved the angles everywhere without giving up much. It doesn't feel any taller to climb into, fits in the garage easily still and drives excellent. I need to dial in the shift points and the speedo with the Procal today and remove the 5 mounted Duratracs and go for another drive which will help with driving impressions.

Klaus - thanks bud! I was thinking of moving on to another project, but I think this upgrade (and a few other small ones coming up) will really help with the enjoyment factor. I personally think the 3.5" lift is too much for the 315 Duratracs (most 35s actually), but I think it would have been the perfect stealthy setup with the 2.5" lift.

I'll grab some side shots and post them up with before/after as well. I don't know why I didn't snap any side/profile pics yesterday - I think I was so excited I wasn't thinking straight LOL.

I completely agree with your line of thought and felt the same way! I loved the factory wheels and liked how very few people even noticed mine was modified - people honestly didn't think it was lifted or had bigger tires until they saw it parked next to a stock one or had to climb in haha.

I ran this trail twice last summer, and both times this line got me hung up. Right as the back tire is struggling up a big rock, the front one is in a dug out rut with a big rock to climb at the same time. Aired down, my tires just weren't tall enough to grab easily and pull me up and over without giving it more skinny pedal than I'm comfortable with. I like finesse wheeling where I'm basically going as slow as physically possible but fast as necessary and the smaller tires were making it much faster than I liked. I'm going to check out this same line as soon as it's clear of snow to see what the difference is.

I actually did see if Discount would mount the KO2s on the stock wheels, but they pulled off the spare and shook their heads. I know some off road shops will do it, but I figured it was probably a good idea to try a wheel that was literally designed for the suspension and tire. I looked at the black Saltas, and while they are nice they are a flat color which I don't think would have blended in as well. I took a risk and went with onyx which is a super dark grey and a gloss finish. The guys at Discount LOVED them and thought the valve stem protector was awesome. I am surprised at how much I like them too to be honest since I've always been an OEM kinda guy.

Here's that obstacle I was mentioning:

Agreed. Those look much more proportional with your lift. Although I'm running stock 32s on an AEV 2.5 (3") lift. So mine looks like your before. I'm curious to hear how it affects your gearing. You know that I like our stock wheels too. But I have to agree, the new onyx wheels look way better. Maybe it tones down the orange slightly.

How's your TF tire carrier handling the new spare?
