Yes was not sure the reason for needing a zig zag machine. If he is using it for his tent, straight is all he would need and it would be less frustrating. 20 yrs of custom auto upholstery and I have never needed a zag zag machine

Yeah that was my bad. I thought he was looking at a 20U knockoff because he wanted the ZZ. I only use mine for repairing sails and doing bartacks, really. I'm not sure it's earning it's keep. For what he's describing, definitely not necessary.

Sewing day today . We have quite a few off cuts left over from our awning and the new rear storage bag we just finished.

We decided to have a go at making a flat pack washing carrying bag for when we are camping, this is the smaller of the two.

It folds down flat and is easy to store.

Then we made some window covers for a young couple driving around Australia in their Unimog, their window were getting pretty badly scratched.

This is our solution, has worked great for the past 6 years.

Our hard working Sailmate sewing machine has been worth the investment.

We have a nice outdoor area, makes for a great sewing room.

Now that I've got the design studio up and running (somewhat) I've started putting together some of my many ideas from my design books. I started on a project that has been sitting on the back burner for a number of years that helps solve a problem many professionals have that have to travel on a moments notice. I've already completed the first sew-out demo and currently having some friends in low places testing it and also working on getting it into our manufacturing so that I can roll it out at the Rocky Mountain/Mountain West Overland Expo in August. Fingers crossed!

Another “one-off” project for a friend. Not planning on producing these but, it was fun to design and make!
I’m not familiar with the Magma, nested cooking system but it seems really solid.
Anyway, the case I designed for it is fully padded, Desert Tan 1000D Cordura Nylon (inside and out), #10 YKK zippers and 4 panel seatbelt webbing for the handles and straps. The handles are removable for storage so I created a small panel with elastic webbing that nests inside of the lid and orientates with the knob on the lid this way the handles don’t bang around inside or outside of the pans.
Fun project. Lmk if you have any questions.E62C31BB-2E0B-4745-B73D-C33F9CB3DF03.jpegD9F54A8F-39DC-4218-B2FA-15FFE0ED0E79.jpegD75B5F0C-36FB-4335-9AFA-1B8325592447.jpeg921957FB-7FD6-46EA-B7FB-810404BBF8CC.jpeg3768E1C8-A2FB-4F2C-AF30-C7DA33E23CE3.jpegEB81696E-209D-4C4A-BEAE-36A88D1F8EE3.jpeg8F77B483-ACDC-41DA-AF36-980F3F812BCF.jpegEBA270A2-22C2-48D5-AD9A-D9591CB829A6.jpegEEEF5012-B3AB-4342-84D2-8414C859A8E5.jpeg

Quality and Style in one neat package

It still needs work, but I couldn't wait any longer to get in and start creating gear! Already increased my "T/E" design output with the plan on getting them into manufacturing

“T/E“ design? Are those range bags in the aluminum box?

T/E = Test and Evaluate. I use to T/E gear for a number of manufactures long before the whole "Influencer" thing. Generally speaking, they'd contact me or I'd reach out to them during their product development and get the "beta" gear to test in the civilian tactical environment. We did Danner, Rocky Boots, ColdSteel, a number of GoreTex clothing companies, H&K, Tactical Tailor, Eagle Ind., Surefire, etc. and then do a comprehensive write-up of "Pros and Cons" and send the gear back. It wasn't all about just getting free gear, at least back in the day.
So, long story short, I have a couple of trusted guys, still in that world that still do that for me and appreciate their feedback since I'm now considered a F.A.G. = Former Action Guy......lol.

As for the two black bags in the case. They are our standard ATC medium gearbags. They're a general purpose bag and we sell a ton for Range use as well as for toolkits, medical bags, etc....

Thanks!

The medium bag holds my Viair compressor, air hose, and tire repair tools very well.

And, as an added bonus, the medium gear bag sells for a lot less then some bags that are marketed as compressor storage bags.
