    Large insta tent

Hmm, I have yet to see that happen with the many that own them or heard about the complaints from it. , but I could see that being an issue, will need to talk tony buddy who uses his. I Know he puts it on a tarp, he may also have a floor for it to as i know many of them have that option as well.

Canada's Backroad Mapbooks Expands into the US

Agreed, however I do like to have multiple options for digital. iPad, phone and head unit all have Gaia maps loaded onto them and downloaded for the areas I go. I also tend to have the paper books in the truck as well.

    Large insta tent

Old thread, but why not just get some ice fishing tents? They are the exact same thing, just stick a group mat down.

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

Sadly Lithium/etc in cold temps are useless, they tend to not take a charge due to the internal BMS in the batteries as you have stated, they shut it down to protect the cells. One of the reasons why I have not upgraded to them here in Canada and I am steering clear of electric vehicles here...

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

Australia sees cold temps in the mountains and snow, so no idea why this was even an issue. Regardless they have acknowledged it and a replacement is on the way. This is common in this industry though, a lot of the high end stuff on the market is not designed to work in cold temps. I could...

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

Yup I hear ya I had a victron before with 200w of solar, and a trickle charger to charge the battery when parked and the truck not in use. Switched it all out to this as I wanted the ability to see other options and well I like trying new things.

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

So just heard back from the engineering department at REDARC. Apparently they are aware of this issue and have been selling all BMS 30 systems with the sensor 3 since Dec 2019. They will ship this sensor to replace my current sensor for the battery once they have them back in stock...

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

Working on that tomorrow, REDARC just got back to me tonight after about two weeks of hearing nothing from them on the xmas break.

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

Wasn't a matter of price, I was trying to eliminate the monstrosity of wiring in the truck. The electrical system, dual battery charging, solar controller, ability to charge offa plugin/etc takes up a serious amount of room in a truck. Not to mention to complexity of the wiring to make it all...

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

Sadly it's set to AGM, I thought the same thing when i noticed this. I've since ripped it out of the truck until I hear back from red arc on how to rectify this, it I'll be asking for a refund.

Redarc BMS 30, not for use in Cold temps

You can tell it what battery you have in the settings, no idea if it does anyrhinf. Mine are AGM and it shuts down the charging. Not because the battery is cold because the BMS senses the temp. Zero issues with my previous setups and keeping the battery charged. Trying to get them to...
