Partners are very nice stoves. When you consider the cost of materials and consumables in addition to the time to build your own, you can justify the purchase price as cost effective. The off the shelf Partners do provide you opportunities to make improvements to the windscreens and grates.

I don't think I have ever heard the term, what is alternator 'over heat protection'? I understand the concept and how the charge profile of the battery could drive the necessity but what and how are alternators protected from overheat?
